A MAN has been convicted of historic child sexual abuse and is due to be sentenced next month.
Derek Lloyd Whellams, 51, had denied two counts of a sexual offence with a boy under 16 years of age and inciting a boy under 14 to commit an act of gross indecency.
The offences were committed more than 30 years ago.
He was convicted of all three charges after a trial at Chelmsford Crown Court.
Whellams, of Linden Close, Colchester, is set to be sentenced at the same court on April 27.
