MORE than 100 West Highland terriers are set to meet for a large dog-walking charity event in Colchester.

Colchester Westie Walkers host a walk twice a year at High Woods Country Park.

The event is held as a fundraiser for two charities - Westie Rescue UK and Westie Advice Group UK.

Last year’s walk raised £681.

Dogs and their owners are set to meet at Chanterelle car park when the walk kicks off at 11am on April 23.

In previous years, more than 80 Westies have attended the walk and owners bring other dogs to bring the total attendees to about 110.

Organisers are hoping to get more than 100 Westies on this year’s walk.

The walk will take about two and a half hours as there are three stops for the pets to take a break.

One stop is at the park’s visitor centre where owners can get refreshments for themselves and their dogs.
