Police and medics have surrounded a a high school after a medical emergency.
Officers and ambulance crews have been spotted at Shoebury High School, Caulfield Road following the incident.
A number of worried residents have taken to social media to post about the large emergency service presence at the school this afternoon.
A school spokesman said it was a "medical incident."
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are currently on scene with colleagues from the amb service at a school in Shoebury, assisting paramedics with a medical emergency.
"We were called by ambulance colleagues just before 1.20pm today following concerns for the welfare of a young person We are treating this as a medical episode."
Shoebury High School has been contacted for further comment.
