A MAN who got behind the wheel while above the drink drive limit has been handed a ban and £1,000 fine.
Andrew Tucker, 49, of Honey Lane, Tiptree, was found to have 184 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood when he was stopped in a Mercedes in St Andrews Avenue in Colchester on December 19.
The legal limit is 80.
Tucker admitted the offence when he appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on March 16.
He was given a 21 month driving ban and a £1,000 fine.
Tucker was also ordered to pay a £100 victim services fund charge and £105 prosecution costs.
