A HAIRDRESSER who has been styling luscious locks since she was a teenager is preparing to make her dream come true by opening her very own salon.
Stacey Watson, 35, from Colchester, first kickstarted her career at the age of just 14 before undergoing hairdressing training at Toni & Guy in the High Street.
She then decided to go freelance, heading to Ibiza to style fashion models for the likes of The Daily Star newspaper and other salons.
After returning to her home town, the former University of Essex student has now decided it is time to start-up her own hairdressers called Hairatio by Stacey.
She is embarked on the venture alongside beauty experts Chloe Lee, Claire Power and Michael Gomes.
“About five weeks ago I saw a shop that was empty, and I thought it was in a good location and close to my local area in Greenstead,” added the talented stylist.
“So, I have taken a massive leap in making a business when it was once just me but I do like taking risks when it comes to success and I am always striving to do better.
“I am feeling excited and nervous but I know you only get out what you put in and I have no doubt this will be very successful.
“It has been the biggest project I have ever set myself.”
Hairatio by Stacey, located in Cowdray Avenue, will be both dog and child-friendly and a taxi service will also be laid on for those who might otherwise struggle to visit.
In addition to hair Stacey, who has customers outside of Colchester in the likes of Clacton, London, and Braintree, will also offer other beauty regimes.
“I like nothing more than to go above and beyond my customers and make everyone happy and the salon will be a nice place to come,” she added.
“My salons are always known to be approachable and friendly and a lot of anxious people say they feel so relaxed.
“Hairatio by Stacey started back in 2007 with just me getting on buses with two massive bags to get to my clients and make money.
“But now in 2022 I have finally got my dream and I have a good team that covers most areas of beauty and hair – it is exciting times.”
Hairatio by Stacey will open its doors on April 2.
