A woman has been taken to hospital after an incident in Colchester this afternoon. 

Police were called to Penrice Close shortly before 3.30pm today (March 22). 

A woman was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. 

Officers have since arrested a person. 

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We have arrested a person on suspicion of GBH and possession of an offensive weapon following an incident in Colchester.

"Our officers were called to Penrice Close shortly before 3.30pm today, Tuesday 22 March.

"A woman has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

"We need anyone who saw anything or has any CCTV, dash cam, or doorbell footage to contact us.
