A DISABLED young boy has been left feeling anxious and hesitant to leave his home after selfish thieves snatched his beloved bike.

Kaiden Saunders, 14, from Colchester, stopped by his friend’s house, in Lord Holland Road, while out riding his black Carrera Vengeance.

After leaning his bicycle up against the nearby garden wall, two boys suddenly approached as he waited at the front door for his pal.

The pair then grabbed the £400 two-wheeler and fled leaving Kaiden, who has autism and ADHD, heartbroken and in a state of shock.

His mum, Jenny Baumback, said: “He is very upset and gutted about it being stolen and he just keeps saying he wants his bike back.

“It is horrible and upsetting to see and it is not fair on him. It is very hard to replace something like that, it was £400 and it’s hard for me to find that sort of money again.

“He has not had it very long and he even spent some of his own birthday money upgrading some of the parts for it.

“I am desperate to get it back and I have tried everything to try and see if anyone knows anything, but I have had no luck.”

The callous crook’s pinched Kaiden’s treasured bike on March 14 at about 4pm and Jenny has since reported the incident to Essex Police.

But since Kaiden’s ordeal, his mum says his mental health has been badly impacted and he is now more cautious about heading outdoors.

Jenny added: “Whoever did this, not only did you steal something of sentimental value but you also stole from a disabled child who has autism and ADHD.

“Granted they may not have known he was disabled but stealing is wrong and all children should be taught this - I think it is disgusting.

“Their parents need to know what kind of children they are raising and teach them it is not okay to put other children and their families through this distress and expense.

“Kaiden now seems a lot more wary and anxious when leaving the house, and that is really upsetting to see.”
