TREASURES were at every corner in a picturesque village as makers, curators and crafters showcased their work.

The Langham Handmade Fair, which took over the Community Hall, featured the work of some of the finest businesses across the Colchester area.

From pottery, jewellery and fused glass to plants, skincare, chocolate and cheese, the fair saw just under 30 stall holders eager to share their produce and incredible stories with visitors.

Launched by Colchester duo Clair Iddenden, 41, and Dawn Harrison, 44, the fair takes place twice a year to promote the talent of local makers.

Mike's Chilli Jam was one of the most popular stalls, the owner of which went from being redundant in 2020 to having his full time business making and selling chilli jam.

Clair, who offers stitched family portraits with I Sew People, said: "We started as a one off event in 2018 and the first fair was really successful.

"The unique thing about it is everything is handmade.

"With the usual craft fair you will have a mixture of handmade and a mix of mass bought wholesale items.

"But we are unique because we are more artisan and we hand pick our stall holders.

"They are all so lovely!"

More than two hundred people turned up to enjoy the Langham fair, which was free for members of the public to attend.

The event was also supported by Oakheart Property - Estate Agency who provided boards and a banner.

Clair added: "The reason why we chose Langham is because it is such a beautiful venue and we have got a great support from the local village.

"For me to organise a nice handmade fair you just associate it with a nice little village."

The next fair will take place in November.
