A CAFÉ and sandwich bar could soon be serving hot food in Colchester under new plans.
The site, in Shop 4, Colne Reach, Hythe Quay, forms part of a recently redeveloped area surrounded by residential properties.
If approved, the café will serve hot food, such as cooked breakfasts, and fresh sandwiches to takeaway.

Kandasamy Mohanathan, who has submitted the plans, wrote in a report: “A café and sandwich bar would complement other facilities in the area.
“There would be a limited amount of seating available within the premises, with the majority of food taken away from the premises for consumption.”
The proposed opening hours would be from 7am to 11pm.
Colchester Council has the final say.
