CLOSURE of a 55m stretch of High Street, Walton-on-the-Naze is planned to last for two days, beginning on April 9. The closure will be from Saville Street to The Parade, and is required while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

Other road closures coming into effect over the next few weeks include:

* An 80m closure of Holts Road, Little Horkesley from its junction with School Road, and a 175m closure of Cockrells Road, Little Horkesley from the same junction on April 20 is planned to enable pole replacement works by Openreach.

* Richard Avenue, Wivenhoe is due to close for three days from April 11, between Broadfields and Alexandra Drive while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

* On April 14, Spring Lane North, Colchester will be closed along part of its length beginning 130m north of Spring Lane roundabout, for a distance of 245m while overhead cabling works are undertaken by Openreach.

* Brook Street, Wivenhoe will be closed between Hamilton Road and St Johns Road on March 30 while new connection works are undertaken by Openreach.

* Circular Road North, Colchester will be closed for 75m from the junction with Flagstaff Road on April 4 while manhole cover replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

* In Holland-on-Sea, Frinton Road will be closed from Kings Parade roundabout to Little Clacton Road for five days from March 28 while carriageway investigation and repair works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

* Golden Lane, Thorpe-le-Soken will be closed for a week from March 31 for a 125m distance from its junction with Colchester Road while new connection works are undertaken by Cadent.

* For three days from March 28, Newbridge Road, Layer Marney will be closed between Grove Road and Haynes Green Road while gully installation works are undertaken by Essex County Council.

* A 120m length of Parsonage Hill, Boxted will be closed near its junction with Church Street for three days from March 29 while stop tap replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.

* The Shipwrights, Wivenhoe will be closed for 70m from its junction with Dry Dock for five days from March 28 while navigation tower removal works are undertaken by Freedom.
