CAR park markings may not seem the most gripping of topics, but take a look at the videos of machinery freshly painting the new lines on and you might be pleasantly surprised by how satisfying it is to watch.
St Mary’s Car Park on Balkerne Hill may have been built as far back as the 1970s, but it has recently undergone renovations, including resurfacing, installation of wider bays – and yes, freshly painted lines.
One roadmarker has shared videos of his work on TikTok, and it gives an insight on what goes on behind closed doors.
It is more hi-tech than you might think.

The renovations are intended to make the car park easier to use and more accessible for residents and visitors.
Entrance and exit lanes have been widened, and walls and pillars have been repainted.
The works follow the installation of LED lighting in the car park in 2020.
