A LONG-SERVING nightlife hotspot which has been one of the go-to town centre venues for the last two decades will close next week.

V-Bar, in High Street, Colchester, has announced it will serve its final round of drinks on March 19 after an impressive 20 years of trading.

In a statement a V-Bar spokesman said staff and bosses were saddened by the decision but acknowledged the site had run its course.

They said: “After 20 brilliant years of bringing the good times to nightlife in Colchester, the time has come to say goodbye to V Bar as we know and love it.

“Our last night Saturday, March 19, will be our final outing and we hope you'll join us over the next two weekends, to send us off.

“Whether you've visited us once, every weekend or every special occasion, we thank everyone for the good times.

“We hope to see you still at Twisters, Three Wise Monkeys and our brewery and taproom, Other Monkey Brewing.”

V-Bar’s last events, running next Thursday and Friday, will be a St Patrick’s Day party and a Friday Throwback night with DJ Dave Mansfield and DJ Phil Page.

On Saturday the venue will bid farewell with its Thnks fr th Mmrs event with DJ Matt Huffle.
