A BIG name brand has applied to sell alcohol from its new Colchester shop.
B&M has applied to Colchester Council to sell alcohol off its new premises at Turner Rise Retail Park from Monday to Sundays from 7am to 11pm.
People have until March 4 to comment on the plans.
B&M Bargains is planning to open the new home store and garden centre on March 26.
Aldi has also applied to Colchester Council for a variation of its premises licence for its shop in Magdalen Street.
The firm wants to change the internal layout but no more details of this have been given.
People have until February 21 to object to the plans.
Essex and Suffolk Gliding Club, based at Wormingford Airfield, in Fordham Road, Wormingford, applied to Colchester Council for an alcohol licence.
The club is well-established and has hosted some famous pilots.
Last August, Love Island star Maura Higgins paid a visit to the gliding club and enjoyed a flight there.
If successful, the club will be able to supply alcohol on its premises seven days a week from 6pm to 10pm.
