NEW restrictions are set to be introduced in several streets this month.

No waiting at any time restrictions will come into force from February 11 at the following locations along Avon Way, Colchester: From 60-62 Hamlet Drive; From 16-18 Hewes Close and from the junction with Hamlet Drive for a distance of approximately 30 metres.

Other road closures include:

  • Burne Road, Colchester, will be closed for 130m from Mersea Road on March 10 for pole testing works by Openreach.
  • A road in Fingringhoe will close for 12 days from March 7. Chapel Road will be closed from Upper Haye Lane to South Green Road while broadband installation works are undertaken by County
  • Broadband Ltd.
  • Coggeshall Road, in Ardleigh, will be closed from Hunters Chase for 45m. The closure is scheduled to being on March 8 and last for four days while new connection works are undertaken by UK Power Networks.
  • East Gores Road, Coggeshall, will be closed from Buckleys Lane to Salmons four four days from March 8 while drainage works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
  • For three days from March 14 Bergholt Road, Fordham will be closed from Rams Farm Road while frame and cover replacement works are undertaken by Anglian Water.
  • Freeland Road, Clacton will be closed from Trafalgar Road for a week, beginning on March 7 for sewer repair works by Anglian Water.
  • Closure of Old Shield Farm Road, Ardleigh from Morrow Road to Frating Road from March 10 for six days while while carriageway patching works are undertaken by Essex County Council.
  • There will be no waiting, no loading and no stopping restrictions, along with a 30mph speed limit from February 17, and continuing for 18 months in several roads around Colchester. Signs will be installed indicating when the restriction will be in force. The roads affected are: Berechurch Hall Road, Colchester from William Harris Way to Mersea Road; Mersea Road, Blackheath from Queensland Drive to Gosfield Road; Cuckoo Farm Way, Colchester from Axial Way to Northern roundabout at Park and Ride. There will also be restrictions along 10m stretches of the following roads: Mersea Road (side road) from main Mersea Road, Colchester; Monkwick Avenue, Colchester from Berechurch Hall Road; Wethersfield Road, Colchester from Berechurch Hall Road; Berefield Way, Colchester, from Berechurch Hall Road, and Lethe Grove, Colchester, also from its junction with Berechurch Hall Road.
