The A120 is closed and the air ambulance is attending after a three vehicle crash this afternoon.
The road is shut between the junction for the A12 at Marks Tey and Colchester Road in the Hamlet of Surrex.
Three vehicles are involved in the crash.
The air ambulance is also due to attend the scene.

A spokesman for the ambulance service has confirmed a man was taken to hospital.
She said: "We were called to the A120 at around 3pm today following reports of a collision.
"We sent an ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance.
"Crews treated a male patient at the scene before transporting him by road to Colchester Hospital for further assessment and care."
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to reports of a collision on the A120 (Coggeshall Road) at Marks Tey involving three vehicles.
"It happened just before 3pm this afternoon, Wednesday 2 February.
"One lane has been reopened, but the other remains closed while emergency services clear the incident."

The crash is causing long delays in both directions.
Traffic is queuing back to Coggeshall with delays of at least 15 minutes.
There are also queues beginning to form at the Marks Tey roundabout.
