A COASTGUARD team rescued a person stuck in the mud while the tide was coming in.
West Mersea RNLI joined the Coastguard at 4.25am on Thursday after receiving reports of the person struggling in Maylandsea with an incoming tide.
Volunteers launched the Just George lifeboat but before they were on scene the Coastguard had freed the casualty.
The lifeboat was stood down and returned to the station shortly after arrival at the site.
