PASSENGERS were left facing disruptions to their services after a tree was reported to be on a busy railway line earlier today.
The tree was said to be resting on the overhead wire between Manningtree and Ipswich, which meant services between Liverpool Street and Ipswich and Norwich were affected.
As a result, the 12.02pm Liverpool Street to Ipswich service was also held in the platform at Colchester.
A spokesman for Greater Anglia said: "Train services running through these stations are returning to normal but some services may still be cancelled, delayed or revised.
"Normal services will be provided as soon as possible."
❗ UPDATE: The tree has been removed and trains can now run between #Colchester and Ipswich.

The 12:30 Liverpool Street to Norwich service is on the move from Colchester and is running 43 minutes late.
Delays are expected whilst service recovers.
