FIRE crews were called into action after a cat became stuck in a drain pipe.
Firefighters from Braintree responded to called from Notley Green in Great Notley yesterday (January 24).
Crews arrived on scene at 12.24pm to rescue the cat after it had ran into an underground drain pipe and was trapped.
The RSPCA was also drafted in to support the Essex County Fire and Rescue Service team.
Working with the RSPCA, firefighters used chimney rods and a shovel to gain access to where the cat was trapped.
The cat was rescued by 2.09pm and left in the care of the RSPCA.
