COLCHESTER United swept to a superb 3-0 victory at Salford City, on Saturday afternoon.

And the U's electric display was watched by a host of Manchester United legends, at Moor Lane.

Ryan Giggs, one of the most decorated players of all time and 13-time Premier League winner, was among the crowd for the League Two clash.

Giggs, who is United's highest all-time appearance maker, is a co-owner at Salford.

Fellow Salford co-owner Paul Scholes, two-time Champions League winner who made more than 700 appearances for United between 1994 and 2013, was also in attendance to see the U's run out 3-0 winners.

Roy Keane, a Manchester United icon, seven-time Premier League winner and now TV pundit, was also a spectator at the game.

He was joined in the executive box at Moor Lane by fellow former Manchester United favourite Steve Bruce, who departed his role as Newcastle United last November.

Salford is also co-owned by Gary Neville, his brother Phil Neville, Nicky Butt and David Beckham, as well as Singaporean businessman Peter Lim.

Colchester ran out convincing winners at Moor Lane, in Wayne Brown's first game in interim charge.

First-half goals from Luke Chambers and Myles Kenlock put the U's in charge.

And Corie Andrews sealed Colchester's victory near the end, in front of a crowd of 1,759.
