COLCHESTER United have signed left-back Myles Kenlock on loan from Ipswich Town.

The 25-year-old has joined the U's from their Suffolk neighbours until the end of the season.

Kenlock, an attack-minded full-back, is out of contract at Ipswich, at the end of the season.

Kenlock has made more than 100 first-team appearances for Ipswich since joining them back in 2014 and signing his first professional contract a year later.

The full-back, who began his academy career at Crystal Palace, played against the U's in the Papa John's Trophy at Portman Road, earlier this season.

He linked up with Town having graduated from the Kinetic Academy, whose aim is to use sport to attract and engage with disadvantaged young people from South London who are at risk of disengagement or deprivation.

Kenlock is expected to be in the U's squad for interim boss Wayne Brown's first game in charge at Salford City this weekend, subject to all paperwork being approved by the relevant bodies.
