WE are lucky in Colchester to be surrounded by blissful countryside with pubs, restaurants and scenic walks a plenty.

However, you may not realise there are many other great ways to enjoy time with friends, family, partners and to get the kids excited too.

Here's some of our favourite, alternative ways to have fun in and around Colchester:

Nightflix, Tollgate Centre Shopping Park, Colchester

This unique cinema experience allows film fanatics to simply park-up and tune-in to the movie in order to enjoy it.

If you’re someone who gets peckish while watching, you can order food straight to your car – or bring your own if you’re fussy!

What’s more, the venue is totally dog friendly and welcomes your furry friends.

Set in the beautiful and historic surroundings of Castle Park, it has been specially designed to suit all abilities from the novice to the experienced golfer.

Fancy taking a trip out onto the water? Then look no further than the Lady Grace’s unique experience which allows daytrippers the chance to spot seals up close.

The boat itself is a 21ft Matlow which is believed to have been built in the 1960's, although she looks brand new.

Excited guests onboard the boat can jet out to see and be taken around the best spots to cast your eyes on some seals roaming the water.
