Breaking News! – Stolen Bike

Just after 6pm on Monday 29th November, a bike was stolen outside Westwood Karate Academy in Leigh-on-sea.  The bike belonged to a parent of a student at the Dojo, and the owner had just popped into the Karate Dojo to use the toilet quickly.  The bike was left directly underneath the front window of the Dojo whilst the owner was inside.  When the owner came back, the bike was missing and they quickly realised that it had been stolen.  The owner quickly looked around but there was no immediate sighting of the thief or her bike.  She then took a look around the surrounding area, but it was no use – the bike had gone!  Unfortunately the bike was not padlocked, chained or locked in any way because the owner was only briefly going into the Dojo, so the bike wasn’t left alone for long at all, maybe just a matter of minutes – but that all it takes.

The unfortunate incident was immediately reported to the Police by the owner of the bike, but to the Karate clubs’ knowledge, the thief has not yet been found, nor has the bike has not been recovered.

It is unclear if there is any CCTV cameras or footage in the surrounding area, that would help the Police with their enquiries, plus there were no witnesses either, although there is some lighting outside the Dojo.

This horrible incident is obviously very upsetting for the owner and extremely inconvenient, especially at this time of year.
