A PERFORMING arts group is preparing to return to a beloved town centre venue this Christmas where it will stage a brand new production.

The Packing Shed Theatre Company was launched in Colchester in 2016 a view of showcasing professional creative talents and new writing in East Anglia.

The collective’s talented actors are now set to perform Terror in the Old Library in the Mercury Theatre’s Studio Theatre between Christmas and New Year.

The premise of the play is centred on an out of work actor who turns up at an old library to record a ghost story which soon becomes all too realistic and deadly.

Gazette:

The performance follows the group’s previous storytelling show, Terrifically Terrifying Tales, which played out at Cressing Temple Barns and Jaywick’s Martello Tower.

It also comes after the company’s successful runs of In Search of England, A Midsummer Night’s Scream, and All Hail Macbeth and its Castle Park Theatre shows.

Terror in the Old Library, which runs from December 28 to 30, will last for roughly one hour and 45 minutes and audience members must be aged 14 or over.

Tickets for the performances cost £15 and can be purchased from packingshedtheatrecompany.co.uk or mercurytheatre.co.uk.
