A FARMERS’ market will finally return to Colchester after two years away due to the pandemic.
Colchester Farmers’ Market will be back in a new home at the Mercury Theatre on Friday.
It will kick off with 25 local artisan food and drink producers filling the piazza area outside the theatre.
Justine Paul, founder of the market, said: “There’s nothing we like more than bringing a vibrant farmers’ market to a new venue and seeing it thrive.
“The people of Colchester and surrounding areas deserve a really good quality food offering and that is exactly what we will be offering them.”

There will be candles from the White Candle Company and festive wreaths from Countryside Flowers.
The Mercury Theatre café will also put on a locally-inspired farmers’ market breakfast.
Carol Rayner, operations director at the Mercury, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the much-loved farmers’ market to our beautiful new piazza and to support local makers who complement the cafe bar and gifts available from our foyer.”
The market runs from 9.30am to 1pm.
