PAUL Tisdale is odds on favourite with bookmakers to take charge at League Two club Stevenage.

The 48-year-old, who worked in an advisory role alongside Hayden Mullins at Colchester United in the final two months of last season, is 2/5 favourite with Bet Victor to take over at the Lamex.

Stevenage have been on the lookout for a new manager since parting company with former Braintree Town forward Alex Revell, earlier this month,

Gillingham boss Steve Evans had been the favourite to take over at Stevenage.

However, the vastly experienced Tisdale is now the clear favourite to be Boro's new boss.

Tisdale made a positive impact during his short time at Colchester, working alongside Mullins and helping them preserve their League Two status.

"Tis has been massive," said Mullins, back in April.

"He's a very, very experienced manager, at this level.

"He's got some very good ways and methods of working.

"He's been massive with set plays, general team play - he's been really big and really big for the group.

"He brings a wealth of experience for me personally and being selfish, there's so much you can learn from him.

"He's been perfect and I think the relationship is working really, really well and he brings so much."

Tisdale is looking for a new challenge after his short-term role at the U's ended.

The former Exeter City, MK Dons and Bristol Rovers boss, who has taken charge of more than 700 games as a manager, has been out of football since his time at the U's ended, in May.

Former Colchester boss John McGreal is 20/1 to take over at Stevenage.
