A trio of town centre sites have applied to extend or vary their alcohol licences.
Britannia Service Station, in Mersea Road, wants to sell alcohol 24 hours a day.
It currently has a licence to sell it from 7am to midnight on Sundays to Thursdays and 7am to 3am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Aldi, in Magdalen Street, has applied to sell alcohol for three hours each day.
It can currently sell alcohol from 8am to 11pm. It wants to extend this from 6am to midnight.
Globe Food and Wine, in Middleborough, wants to sell alcohol for more hours.

It wants to be able to sell products from 6am to 11pm Mondays to Wednesdays, 6am to 2am Thursday ot Saturday and 6am to 9pm on Sunday.
The business can currently sell alcohol between 8am and 11pm on Monday to Saturday and 10am to 10.30am on Sundays.
