A MAN is due to appear in court next month after he was charged in connection with an assault investigation.

Jake Potter, 27, of Sarcel, Stisted has been charged with grievous bodily harm without intent and breaching a restraining order after he appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on November 17.

It comes after Essex Police previously launched a search for Potter in a bid to speak to him in connection with an investigation into an assault in Braintree in August this year.

Potter was then arrested by Essex Police on November 16.

After being charged, Potter will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on December 15.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We are no longer looking for Jake Potter who we’d wanted to speak to in connection with an assault investigation in Braintree.

"He was charged with breaching a restraining order and GBH without intent and appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.

"He is next due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court."
