ENGINEERS have attended to repair the new traffic lights in Stanway following reports of major tailbacks.
The new system, which was installed as part of the Stane Park shopping development, was said to be the reason for heavy delays between the roundabout at Eight Ash Green and Tollgate.
Concerns have also been raised on the signal change times, which according to some drivers are causing tailbacks with cars barely moving.
Essex Highways have now confirmed work is underway to improve the traffic flow at the Tollgate junction.
A spokesman for the authority said: “National Highways engineers were on site yesterday afternoon and into the evening, working on the timing of the phasing of the signals to improve the situation and will continue to monitor traffic flow in the area.
“Essex Highways will continue to liaise with National Highways on the traffic flow at this junction going forward.”
