A DRUNKEN reveller was caught on camera smashing a club owner’s car windscreen with a beer barrel, after reportedly being kicked-out for fighting.

In shocking footage, which can be seen at Gazette-news.co.uk, a bald man is seen walking down Orwell Road, Clacton, before stopping in front of a parked Range Rover.

He then appears to tamper with the expensive grey vehicle before picking up a heavy metal keg and launching it at the windscreen.

After shattering the Range Rover’s front window, and causing what could be as much as £10,000 worth of damage, the thug casually walks away from the scene.

Rob Asbo, 43, is the owner of the targeted vehicle and the founder of the nearby Pulse Nightclub, from which the man in the CCTV images was removed for causing trouble.

He said: “I decided to move him along from the venue as he was just making matters worse for himself.

“We then closed the venue early because if you can’t behave then we shut the doors, because we want to make our venue a safe venue for everyone.

“But then, as I looked at the cameras and he was putting my screen in on my car and then the beer barrel bounced off and hit another car.

“So there is massive damage to both cars, it’s got to be £10,000-plus there is glass all on the inside, and now I have no car to take my son to school.”

Gazette:

Mr Asbo, who has reported the incident to the police, has vowed to continue championing Clacton’s night-time economy, but admits he remains rattled by the ordeal.

“There is no respect for anyone, not the police or the people working to keep people safe on their nights out,” he added.

“I have been working, along with other venue owners, to try and get Clacton a night-life, and yet this is what we face.

“We as a community really need to pull together before things like this get worse. “I would never think people who are just doing there jobs would have this kind of thing done to them - I still am in shock it’s happened.”
