A RESIDENT had to be rushed to hospital for treatment following a nasty-looking crash at a busy junction.
Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to Wimpole Road, in Colchester, at about 6.20pm last night.
After arriving at the scene it was established there had been a serious car crash, which is believed to have involved two vehicles.
The incident occurred at the junction connecting Wimpole Road and Old Heath Road next to the recreation ground.
As a result of the accident one person had to be transported to Colchester Hospital by ambulance.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 6.18pm yesterday with reports of a collision in Wimpole Road, Colchester.
"One person was taken to Colchester General Hospital by ambulance."
Essex Police and the Essex Fire Service have been contacted for comment.
