Today marks World Vegan Day.

It first occurred on November 1, 1994 as a way of commemorating the 50th anniversary of the UK Vegan Society.

Here we take a look at some of the vegan options available in Colchester.

Hank’s Deli

Hank's serve a range of breakfasts, brunches, coffees, sandwiches and fast food.

Hank’s Deli and Hank’s Dirty, which offers an cruelty-free fast food menu, are combined into one location in Culver Street West.

Caffe Sala

The cafe in Eld Lane is fully plant based.

It serves brunch, lunch and light bites including pizza style paninis and sandwiches.

The cafe also serves a range of delicious vegan cakes.
