A SPORTS-FASHION retailer officially opened a new store within a town centre shopping complex at the weekend… much to the delight of trainer lovers.

JD Sports has spent the last few months refitting a large premises in the Lion Walk Shopping Centre and finally welcomed its first customers on Saturday.

Occupying the units which were previously home to Topshop and Topman, the self-dubbed King of Trainers’ new shop will stock brands such as Nike and Adidas.

The clothing and trainer company already has a store in the town’s Culver Square Shopping Centre, although this site is believed to be much larger.
