A PROLIFIC thief who targeted a shop on an almost daily basis for a week has been jailed after making off with nearly £1,500 worth of goods.
Warren Lee Linnen, of Osborne Street, Colchester, struck at TK Maxx, in Culver Square, eight times in 11 days during his spree of thefts between October 7 and 18.
The 41-year-old made off with a variety of coats and jackets across the 11 day period worth £1,390.
He also targeted Boots, in Lion Walk, on October 18, where he stole FCUK gift sets worth £100.
As a result of his spree, Linnen was sentenced to two weeks in prison after indicating a plea of guilty at Colchester Magistrates’ Court.
Magistrates took the decision to jail him after describing him as a "prolific thief" and taking into account the repeated nature of the offences.
The court heard his offences were committed soon after the expiry of a three year Community Order which magistrates said “has done little” to prevent further offending.
