A MAN who drove on the wrong side of a roundabout forcing drivers to take evasive action has been handed six penalty points.

Fabion Grosvenor, 31, of Drury Road, Colchester, was summonsed to court to face a charge of driving without due care and attention after the incident in Richmond on March 21 this year.

The court heard Grosvenor overtook a number of cars on the wrong side of the road in his Toyota. This was in contravention of two keep left bollards.

He then drove on the wrong side of a roundabout into oncoming traffic.

Other vehicles were forced to slow to avoid a collision.

The case was decided by a magistrate using the single justice procedure, which means defendants don't have to appear in court.

Magistrates at Bromley Magistrates' Court fined Grosvenor £440 and handed him six penalty points.

He was also ordered to pay a victim services charge of £44 and costs of £100.
