COLCHESTER United's FA Cup first-round derby clash at AFC Sudbury is to get national exposure after being selected for live television coverage.

The U's first-round tie against their Pitching In Isthmian League division north opponents will be shown live on BBC2 on November 5, kick-off 7.55pm.

The hugely-anticipated game will also be shown on BBC iPlayer, kicking off the weekend of first-round fixtures.

Colchester boss Hayden Mullins said: "It's good for both clubs and it's an exciting one for us.

"It's just around the corner and we know that all of the pressure is on us.

"It's an FA Cup tie with the cameras there and it's a great tie.

"The FA Cup is a great competition and it's one that's been very good to me as a player.

"Hopefully, it'll be good as a head coach as well."

Colchester say ticket information for the game will be released in due course.
