COLCHESTER United have been drawn to play Pitching In Isthmian League division one north side AFC Sudbury in a mouthwatering derby in the first round of this season's FA Cup.

The U's will travel to play their non-league Suffolk neighbours, who are situated just 15 miles away, following the draw this lunchtime.

It is a plum draw for the Yellows, who beat National League South leaders Dartford 3-1 in front of a crowd of more than 800 to reach the first round.

AFC Sudbury are currently sixth in division one north.

Colchester will be hoping for a decent run in this season's competition.

The U's were knocked out of last season's competition at the first hurdle, following their penalty shoot-out defeat at home to Marine.

Hayden Mullins will preside over his first FA Cup tie as the club's head coach, in next month's first round.

The tie will be played over the weekend of November 6 and 7.
