Closed - Northern Approach was closed on Friday evening after a collision between a Mercedes and a road cyclist
A man has died following a collision in Colchester on Friday evening, Essex Police has confirmed.
Northern Approach was closed following an incident at 7:10pm on Friday evening after a white Mercedes hit a cyclist on the A134.
Essex Police said in a statement that a man has been arrested following the collision on suspicion of causing death by careless driving, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
The man killed in the incident is believed to be a man in his 30s.
Though he was taken to hospital immediately following the incident, he died a shortly after.
The incident took place on the same day as a man was killed on the A120 following a rush-hour incident with a lorry between Colchester and Harwich.
