TRIBUTES are being paid to a young man who died after a collision involving a car and a tree.

Jake Blease, from Witham, has been identified by Essex Police as the man who died following a collision Cressing at the weekend.

The 25-year-old died after the car he was in, a blue Ford Fiesta, left Witham Road,

The car was in collision with a tree at around 12.20am on Saturday, September 25.

Now Jake's family are leading tributes to their son.

In a statement, his family said: “Jake loved life and lived it to the fullest, he had a cheeky smile and a laugh no-one could ever forget.

“He was adored by his two little sisters and loved by everyone. He was a great son, step-son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend.

“He touched so many people’s lives and was blessed to have such a wide range of friends, none of whom will ever forget his kindness or his infectious personality."

A fundraiser to pay for Jake's funeral has already smashed its £2,500 target.

At the time of writing, donors have managed to raise a heart-warming £4,625 in the memory of Jake after just two days.

A statement on Jake's GoFundMe page says the fundraiser has been started to "help Jake Blease's family raise some money to help towards his funeral, and to give Jake the send off he deserves.

"Jake was a kind and loving brother and wonderful son and with a heart of gold to all of his friends a best friend to us all, a well known face everywhere he went, so let’s give him one big send off he deserves."

It comes after two men – aged 24 and 25 – were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving, and drug driving.

They are currently on bail until October 14.

Essex Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman said: "We need anyone who may have seen how the vehicle was being driven or witnessed or has footage of the moments leading up to the collision to come forward.
