A POETRY machine is coming to Colchester to tap into the town’s rich history and the community’s aspirations.
Visitors will be able to get their own poem created by the machine in Lion Walk shopping centre this weekend.
The machine was founded and created by poet Beth Calverly. At the end of the weekend excerpts from the individual poems will be combined to create one super poem, to be displayed prominently within the town centre.
Centre manager Martin Leatherdale said: “It is fantastic to continue to work on brand new innovative projects that will enrichen ties between today’s community and our depth of history in Colchester.
“It would be great to involve families and young Colcestarians and share the communities thoughts in this incredible way.”
Beth added: “I can’t wait to listen to community members, workers, and visitors, co-creating poetry that reflects their memories and hopes for Colchester.”
