Miseria e Nobilta', Queen Street

The Italian restaurant had a four and half star rating on TripAdvisor. 

One review said: "The food in this restaurant was beautiful from start to finish. Both the taste snd texture were to savour throughout. Friendly service too. Highly recommended."

Another added: "Lovely charming family run Italian, food is fresh and authentic and the service was professional and charismatic. We were asked for a deposit to book but considering the restaurant size we fully understood why as any no shows would really affect their business. Enjoyed by all and highly recommend!"

Le Talbooth, Dedham

The menu includes lobster thermidor, filet of Dedham Vale beef and banana and pecan souffle.

It was awarded the Michelin Plate award for good cooking.

One review described it as 'romantic and special'. 

They said: "Yes this is an expensive restaurant but it is one that you save for a special occassion and it does not disappoint! Amazing building beautiful setting, toilets are lovely! Food is great service perfect, not too fast and just relaxing. Staff make you feel spoilt and well looked after."

The Orange Tree Tapas, Wivenhoe 

The restaurant and wine bar wins rave reviews from customers. 

One review said: "Intimate, cosy and romantic, engaging staff, chatty chef but above all top class food and smooth cocktails. Great atmosphere- don’t miss it…."

Another said: "What a lovely quaint cozy restaurant. The food was first class and although we ordered more than we needed every dish was superb. Good selection of food and drinks. Every member of staff could not do enough to help us and made our experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommended."

The Old Siege House Bar and Brasserie, East Street

The brasserie is also popular with customers. 

One review said: "We had a lovely meal, the food was delicious, as were the cocktails. A young staff looked after us and they were first class and friendly."

The Greek restaurant and steakhouse is another firm favourite for people in Colchester.
