A MANHUNT has been launched after a woman was sexually assaulted in an alleyway.
The victim reported a man grabbing her from behind in the alley, at the end of Pound Farm Drive, Harwich, between 11.10pm and 11.30pm on Tuesday.
She managed to fight him off and the suspect fled the scene.
He is described as white, of a large build and was wearing light coloured clothes at the time the incident took place.
Essex Police say the victim is being supported by specialist police officers and they have stepped up patrols in the area following the incident.

Detective Inspector Lydia George said: "We are working hard to identify this man and would ask anyone who was in the area at the time or with information on the incident or the circumstances leading up to it to speak to us.
“There will be extra patrols in the area tonight and I would urge anyone who saw or knows something that may help our investigation, to stop one of my officers and speak to them.”
