CELEBRITIES descended on Essex for a round of booze-fuelled crazy golf, as bosses unveiled a £250,000 overhaul of its handmade nine hole courses.
EastEnders and Strictly star Maisie Smith and Zack Brown, who play Tiffany Butcher and Keegan Baker, joined Love Island contestants AJ Bunker and Chloe Crowhurst at Caddies crazy golf on Southend High Street, for a night of eating, drinking, and hole-in-ones.
Co-owner George Bejko-Cowlbeck splashed £250,000 on a complete revamp of the second floor, just 18 months after opening a comedy club downstairs.
The team actually ran out of cash while building the two new courses, but used handy DIY furniture from Ikea to finish the job.
The revamp also saw a re-design of the second floor, with both the bar and restaurant having a whole new look and layout.
The golf courses now start in the bar and finish at one end of the restaurant.
Mr Bejko-Cowlbeck, 31, said: “It’s all been done by hand, even the ferris wheel.
“People a lot more skilled than me were able to help out.
“We managed to finish it in May, but with Covid restrictions we’ve only just been able to get the night time visitors in here.
“I must have tested the course at least a thousand times. If anyone asks me for a round I have to refuse!”

Celebrities were able to have a round of golf themselves at an exclusive VIP night on Thursday.
20-year-old Maisie, from Southend, took her parents and sister around the two courses with her.
Diversity stars Warren Russell and Sam Craske also joined in the fun.
Mr Bejko-Cowlbeck, added: “We only managed to get a few weeks of use from the comedy club before Covid struck. It’s been great having people back. We waited to open until all the staff have been double jabbed. That was really important to us.”
The golf courses feature a trash can, a moving ferris wheel, and several tricky situations to manage.
