PLANS for another 201 homes to be built at a 1,600 home development have been approved.

Countryside Properties proposals for the latest stage of the Chesterwell development, in Mile End, Colchester, have now been rubber stamped.

They will see 201 new homes built to the north-west side of the site.

There are set to be 30 two-bed, 90 three-bed and 47 four-bed houses and four one-bed and 30 two-bed flats, with 15 per cent of the homes classed as affordable.

Colchester Council's planning officers approved the scheme subject to a number of conditions.

Once complete, Chesterwell will have about 1,600 homes, a new primary and secondary school as well as a Co-op supermarket.
