NEW 20mph speed restrictions are coming into effect in roads across Rowhedge village.

All are currently 30mph, by virtue of having street lighting.

However, new 20mph zones will soon be in place in Rowhedge Road, Marsh Crescent, Oxon Close, Church Hill, Church Street, Colne Rise, High Street, Regent Street, Sunbeam Close, Taylors Road, Albion Street, Paget Road, Parkfield Street, Stephen Cranfield Close, Chapel Street, Head Street, West Street, Rectory Road, Donyland Way, Ashurst Close, Hillview Close and Heath Road.

* A temporary 30mph restriction will soon be in place on the B1033 Colchester Road, in Weeley.

It will apply from its junction with the A133/B1033 Weeley services roundabout, east to its junction with the B1033/B1441 roundabout.

The restrictions are due to last three days from Saturday, August 28, between 8.30am and 11.50pm.

It is because of the Clacton Family, Proper Fest and Weeley Tribute festivals being held at Hawk Fruit Farm, Weeley.

* Heath Road, in Colchester, is closing from its junctions with Church Lane and Straight Road.

The closure will last five days from September 24, while carriageway repair works are carried out by Essex County Council.

* Look out for a road closure in Colchester.

De Vere Road is shutting because of roadworks from its junctions with The Commons and Prettygate Road, for a period of nine days from September 20.

* Parts of Grove Road and Barbrook Lane, in Tiptree village, are closing next month.

The closures will start on September 20 for 54 days, while new connection works are carried out by Gas Transportation Co Ltd.

* Openreach is planning work in Ardleigh.

It means Home Farm Lane is closing from its junction with Harwich Road, for just one day on September 21.

* Openreach work also means a road closure in Wakes Colne.

Middle Green will be shut on September 20.

* Newbridge Road is shutting in Tiptree and Layer Marney.

It is because of work by Openreach and the closure will apply on September 22.

* Essex County Council is planning a major programme of roadworks in Old House Road, Great Horkesley.

It will be shut from its junctions with Coach Road and The Causeway, for five days from September 20.

It is while carriageway patching works are carried out.
