A WOMAN has been banned from driving for 18 months and ordered to pay more than £700 after being arrested for drink driving on an e-scooter.
Essex Police's Colchester Community Policing Team noticed the female "riding erratically" on a Spin e-scooter through Colchester town centre on Friday, August 6.
She was stopped and subsequently arrested for drink driving.
A spokesman for Essex Police Colchester said: "On Friday, August 13, a 51-year-old woman from Colchester appeared at Colchester Magistrates' Court whereby she received an 18-month disqualification from driving and over £700 in costs and fines."

He added: "We have spoken rather a lot about e-scooters as they are new and there is strict legislation around them - they are subject to the road traffic act.
"As such while we post this story - please take it as advice and to raise further awareness."
