A DEVELOPER has applied to install new signage at its new £60 million retail park.

The first store at Stane Retail Park is set to open this October, when the new home of B&Q in Colchester is complete.

The retail park will also be home to Aldi, set to open in November, and an M&S Foodhall, which could open in "early 2022".

Churchmanor Estates, the firm behind the plans, has submitted a series of planning application to install new signage at the retail park.

These include totem signs at the entrance to the retail park as well as just off the A12.

B&Q has also submitted a planning application to install the illuminated signage on its new unit.

All staff have been offered new jobs and the new store is designed to the latest specification.

Sainsbury's is set to move in to the old B&Q unit in Hythe once it is empty.

Aldi is also set to move its London Road store to Stane Retail Park.

The M&S Foodhall will be the first of its kind in Colchester.

There are several other units also being built on site, some of which have been let to undisclosed tenants. The whole development is expected to create about 300 jobs once complete.

Investment at the retail park will see £2.6 million spent on improvements to the Eight Ash Green A12 roundabout, where a four-way traffic signal junction is being created.

Works to widen Stanway’s Western Bypass to two lanes are also almost finished.

Colchester Council will have the final say on whether to approve the new signage.
