JOHN EDWARDS: Founding Principal of Colchester Sixth Form College. It is with sadness that we announce that John passed away peacefully at his home in Fishguard surrounded by his family on Wednesday 21st July. Devoted Husband to Gaynor, cherished Father to Tracey and Trilby and wonderful Grandfather to Laura, Lucca, Edward and Leon. John will be greatly missed by his family, friends, colleagues and students. A service to celebrate John's life will take place on Tuesday 10th August at 2.30pm at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narberth. DORA FOREMAN: Passed away peacefully at Colchester General Hospital with her family at her side on 26th July 2021, aged 90. PETER NAPPER: Peter Napper, who has died aged 90, was a much-loved Headmaster, Husband, Father, Grandfather and Friend. Born in Wivenhoe, he was educated at Colchester Royal Grammar School then did his National Service in Germany, where he took an Advanced Maths course, before proceeding to St John's College, London University. He first taught at Hamilton Primary School in Colchester, before becoming a Headmaster at Boxted School, then Tendring School. An outstanding sportsman, he once scored a century for Wivenhoe Cricket Club. Peter married Barbara in 1952, and looked after their Daughter Helen while Barbara herself qualified as a Teacher. His long retirement allowed him to indulge his great love of walking and gardening - he was the longest-serving gardener at the Colchester Hospice. Everyone who met him or was taught by him loved his warmth, charm, humour and lightness of touch. He'll be much missed by Barbara, Helen, Jon and his Granddaughter Nancy and his many friends.
