YOUNG knights and warrior princesses are needed to help save an under siege Colchester Castle.
On Sunday, August 29 and Monday, August 30, the Castle Park attraction will be transported back in time and transformed into an early medieval encampment filled with magic and mystery.
There will be live demonstrations, interactive exhibits and fun for the whole family.
Residents can learn more about medieval warfare, find out what skills Knights would have needed to go into battle and watch expert talks.
Colchester Council's economy, business and heritage boss Darius Laws said: "This is a great opportunity for families to get together and head back into Colchester’s past.
"Wander around the castle encampment taking in the aromas of traditional medieval cuisine and learn more about life in medieval Colchester.
"We also require some very brave children to face a smoke-breathing dragon before heading off to explore the Castle Museum in more detail, including its new exhibition Decoding the Roman Dead.
"A great day out is guaranteed for the whole family.”
