A COLCHESTER woman who died following a crash on the A12 will be remembered as being “loved by all who knew her”.

Police have named the motorist who died in a road traffic collision in Stratford St Mary.

Officers were called at 7.47pm last Monday to a report of a single vehicle crash on the A12 northbound carriageway in Stratford St Mary, at the junction of the B1068.

A silver Skoda Fabia was involved and a woman in her twenties, who was the sole occupant of the car, sadly died at the scene.

Pending formal coroner’s inquest proceedings, police have provisionally identified the woman who died as 26-year-old Heather Loveridge, who was known by her family and friends as Meg, and who was from Colchester.

Her family asked Suffolk Police to issue a tribute to Meg on their behalf.

The statement said: “Meg was a loving partner, daughter, a sister, a friend and a carer.

“Loved by all who knew her and will be missed by so many, especially her dog, Jessie, that had been by her side from a puppy and was there to keep her warm until the very end.

“Sleep tight Meg, we all miss you so much.”

On the day of the incident, the road was closed while officers conducted initial inquiries into the collision and to clear the road.

The road was closed about ten hours in total, re-opening at about 5.45am last Tuesday.

Police are still appealing for any witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage which may have captured the collision to come forward.

They are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, quoting CAD reference 343 of August 2, 2021.
