A DEDICATED care home employee has made it through to the national final of the Great British Care Awards.
Samantha Farrow, lifestyle co-ordinator at St Fillans Care Home in Colchester, won the Care Home Activities Organiser Award for the east at this year's awards.
She will now go on to the national finals in Birmingham in September hoping to win the UK-wide award.
Samantha's work includes organising events and activities for residents, who are receiving long-term and respite car.

A spokesman for the home said: "Everyone across the Excelcare group, especially Care Home Manager is very proud of what Samantha has achieved with her hard work and dedication she is a true winner.
"Her fellow team members at St Fillans Care Home are rooting for her for the nationals as she thoroughly deserves it.
"Good luck Samantha and congratulations."
